  • A large hospital in Arizona is looking for Oncology nurses for a travel assignment.
  • The right candidate will have two years of experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS and AZ license or compact.

    • **LEVEL I TRAUMA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    • **candidate is required to pass DYS exam PRIOR to accepting. 2 attempts
    • The hospital expects that every nurse is competent in these areas, especially maintaining sterile field, as these are nursing skills that are performed frequently.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts: 7-7 shifts
      • Weekend Requirement: At least 1 weekend per month
      • Holidays: Work into rotation
      • 12 hour days, 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays

        • Unit: Oncology Acute Tele T6
        • # beds: 32
        • Ratios: 1:4 ratio
        • EMR: Cerner
        • Charge Nurse: Yes, light patient assignment. Oncology resource RN.
        • Nurse Aides: 2 PCTs days and nights
        • Scrub Color: Navy
        • Tele: Phillips. RN to interpret EKG.
        • Vents: Bipap, Cpap
        • IV Team: SWAT RN available for difficult IV sticks.
        • RT 24/7: Yes
        • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
        • Floating: Float to other MedSurg/Tele units
        • Floor specific orientation: 2 days on the floor.
        • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 85% Oncology patients / 15% Tele medsurg. Surgical, medical, Oncology patients.

          • ACLS, BLS; Medical Solutions Pre-Screens, if clinical recommends, AUTO OFFER
          • DAY 1 PASS FAIL SIMs Lab: All RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes, with the exception of NyICU & ED.
          • SIMs lab is pass/fail & nurses have been termed during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field.
