  • A large hospital in Arizona is looking for RN's with MedSurg/Telemetry/Psych experience for a travel assignment on their Visual Medical unit.
  • The right candidate will have two years of MedSurg/Tele experience and Psych experience.
  • This is for travelers going to St. Joseph main campus and/or St. Joseph Westgate campus.
  • We are a MedSurg/Tele Unit that specializes in patients with Mental illness. Psychiatric experience is preferred, but certainly not a requirement.
  • I am much more interested in their MedSurg/Tele skills and whether or not the candidate has a desire to work with the mentally ill.
    • Job Requirements
    • The right candidate must hold an active BLS, ACLS and AZ license or compact.
    • LEVEL I TRAUMA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
    • candidate is required to pass DYS exam PRIOR to accepting. 2 attempts.
    • All RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes.
    • SIMs lab is pass/fail & nurses have been termed during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field.
      • Schedule Information
      • Charge Nurse: Charge, has patients.
      • Nurse Aides: Behavior health techs, Security watches via video.
      • Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend.
      • Holidays: Work in perm staff rotation.
      • Shifts: 12 hr shifts. 7-7.
      • Floating: ED psych holds, possibly to MedSurg floors.
      • Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts.

        • Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Medical unit with secondary psych diagnosis. Confused patients, dementia, low cognitive ability
        • Charge Nurse: Charge, has patients.

        • Scrub Color: Navy, and panic buttons
        • Floating: ED psych holds, possibly to MedSurg floors.
