AM Support Partner - Men's Housing Shelter Friday, November 1,
2024 The AM Support Partner for A New Leaf's East Valley Men's
Center provides essential support to residents, ensuring a safe,
structured, and therapeutic environment. Key responsibilities
include facilitating client check-in/out, enforcing safety
protocols, and conducting routine facility rounds. This role also
involves providing crisis intervention, maintaining cleanliness,
and assisting with kitchen duties, such as food preparation and
storage, in compliance with health standards. The Support Partner
works closely with clients to educate them on program rules, life
skills, and expectations, and refers client needs or concerns to
case managers. Professionalism, therapeutic communication, and
adherence to program protocols are essential to fostering a
supportive, respectful environment for all clients.Hourly Pay Rate:
$20.00Schedule Shift Options:
- Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm
- Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday; 7am - 5pm (four 10hr
shifts)QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
- High School or GED preferred.Experience:
- 0-1 years of experience working with homeless or economically
disadvantaged population
- Demonstrate and provide strong communication skills both
verbally and in writing.
- Committed to teamwork and have the ability to establish and
maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Trauma Informed Care.
- The skills necessary to engage and work with others from
diverse ethnic and cultural groups, coupled with always maintaining
professionalism.Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in weekly staff and training
meetings.
- Use therapeutic responses in interactions with clients and
staff; do not threaten dismissal except for safety reasons. Educate
clients on behavior and consequences.
- Enforce program participation requirements and manage client
check-in/out and safety protocols, including thorough item checks
upon entry.
- Perform regular safety rounds and ensure facility cleanliness
and safety.
- Direct client requests or issues to case managers; maintain
professional, respectful communication at all times.
- Handle phone calls, voicemail, and emergency situations as
needed.
- Oversee kitchen duties, maintaining food safety and cleanliness
standards. Prepare meals, oversee client chores, and ensure proper
food storage.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support, using
therapeutic responses and recognizing mental health/addiction
symptoms.
- Educate clients on program rules, chores, and fire safety.
- Communicate professionally by email following the chain of
command; escalate issues appropriately.
- Document client attendance, late or overnight alerts, and
safety concerns. Walk the property regularly to report maintenance
needs.
- Follow personal schedule and clocking procedures, arrange
coverage when absent, and request overtime approval.
- Demonstrate awareness of personal biases; provide clients with
education on critical life skills.
- Stock and organize supplies, stay alert during overnight
shifts, and cover scheduling gaps when
needed.Compliance/Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation
